The Astrilian Capital of Everborn is home to many of the kingdom’s most prestigious families. One family, House Sparkmyre, is revered for producing prodigious children in a wide variety of fields, including militarily, religiously, artistically, and politically. Those who did not have such talent, especially girls of the household, had to be put to use in different regards, often married off to the son of another household. This is the story of Minerva, a daughter of House Sparkmyre who refused to let her family’s traditions bind her… The morning sun rose over the land that comprised Donner Manor, home of the prestigious House Sparkmyre. Most of its inhabitants had already risen to meet the day regardless of position, from the lord of the manor to the lowest ranking servants. Only one person in the building had yet to rise from their bed. A long groan echoed throughout one of the manor’s many bedrooms as a set of silk sheets rustled as they were thrown to one side of the four

Chapter 7.5: Leaving Southshire, Hidden Feelings The door to the local inn swung open to reveal a panicked Mira, rushing through it before slamming it behind her. She leaned against the wooden door, her eyes were wide, breath short and quick, and cheeks flushed as bright as the sun rising into the sky. Her hand rested over her temple, groaning and wincing as she felt her head pounding, a result of the hefty amount of ale she consumed last night. Yet the hangover was not what made her rush out of the inn; instead, it was what she saw when she first opened her eyes this morning. When she awakened, the first thing she saw was the Damion’s sleeping face, just inches away from hers. She had cuddled around him like a child clinging to a teddy bear. Upon seeing him, she nearly tossed herself off the bed. It took every muscle in her body to contain a scream until she was outside, amazed she didn’t wake anybody as she fled the room. What the hell was that?! Her mind raced as her breathing

Chapter 7: Kori Utsukushi, the hero of Southshire! Kori quickly ran out the door, prompting Damion and the others to follow her. As they rushed outside, they saw the cyclops standing over the village, its crimson flesh almost burning in the sunlight. All three groaned as they felt a surge of heat pour down over them, the air itself threatening to light ablaze. The monster let out a menacing roar as its eye locked onto them, glowing as red as the sun. Mira wasted no time, clapping her hands together. “Thunder Clap!” she yelled as the motion resulted in a lightning bolt shooting out towards the cyclops. The monster quickly shut its eye, resulting in the bolt bouncing off the eyelid. It almost seemed to chuckle before swiping its arm at the trio, the slow speed of the attack allowing them to dodge it easily. “Crap, just as I thought,” Mira groaned, clenching her fists. “It knows that we’ll try and take out its eye. Just what I’d expect from a high-level monster.” Damion was

Fire Emblem Awakening: Four Horsemen Prologue
It was yet another cloudy day over New Ylisse; a settlement built just beyond the hills in the southeast corner of the continent. The hills, along with multiple lush forests, help conceal New Ylisse from the rest of the world. Survivors of the Fell Dragon’s rampage have found their way to its wooden walls, helping to form a small, self-sufficient community. Aside from occasional raids by hordes of Risen, New Ylisse faced relative peace due to its seclusion. That would not last for much longer… Two people stood guard over the front gate of New Ylisse, both leaning against the wooden walls to ease the burden on their legs. One was a young man with short hair colored ash gray, humming to himself with a light smile. The other, a young woman with crimson hair tied into long twin-tails, was not as content with her current situation. Her arms crossed tightly, her foot tapping on the ground impatiently. She finally let out a loud groan, almost hitting her head on the wall behind her. “This
This world was once beautiful, In my earliest days, I knew nothing but peace. The people in the town and castle were always so happy and full of life and energy. As a princess, I obviously knew very little about hardship at this time, my life filled with happy memories. My father, Chrom, was strong, yet gentle. I heard stories of him being brash and reckless, yet he was patient with me whenever he taught me to swing a sword properly. He even let me hold his signature weapon, the divine blade Falchion, a few times. He told me that one day, I would inherit this sword to help lead the halidom of Ylisse into a bright future. My mother, Robin, was similar to father, yet she was more intelligent and calculating, things you would expect of a royal tactician. Through her analytical words, she was also beautiful and kind, yet also carried an air of mystery about her. Even with her royal duties as queen and tactician, she almost always found time to spend time with me and help me with my

Chapter 6: Mercy and Negotiation Kori’s eyes widened at Damion’s words, taken aback by his now gentle demeanor. Just moments ago, he hit her with a stream of powerful flames, her insides still feeling as if they could melt any minute. She wasn’t the only one shocked by his actions, as Mira and Keon both stepped back, their eyes wide with shock as they tried to comprehend what was happening. “D-Damion…?” Mira muttered, smacking her ears in hopes that what she heard was merely her imagination. “You… You didn’t just ask her if she was okay, did you?” He then turned to his companions, smiling softly, chuckling, “Yeah, I did. Why?” His attention then turned back to the weakened Hyōki, his smile never wavering as he continued, “You are okay, aren’t you?” She felt a lump in her throat as she tried to find words, slowly nodding to him. Her cheeks began to turn a light shade of purple as she kept looking into his eyes, captivated by his smile and shining blue eyes. Before he could
